Rest, Ice, Stretch, Massage
These are what I've been told to do.
Well, I've been resting (from running) and done a nifty little stretch the podiatrist showed me a few times. Icing & self-massage has been a non-event. My shin has definitely improved from the resting. I can do the hop test with no pain.
It's so close to a new year that I might as well set a comeback to running date of 01/01/2009.
My cardio vascular system would be capble of an easy 5k, but I'll do what my legs need. 1 min runs during walks and gradually building from there.
